I went there to get help getting an earring into my cartilage piercing. The guys there were so friendly and welcoming and the woman who helped me, Jesse, made me feel right at home and was glad to help. Very welcoming environment, even to someone who feels out of their element in a tattoo shop, like me. Will be sure to go back for my next piercing!
Since 1973 Tattoo Charlie’s has been offering professional tattoo and body art services to residents of Louisville and beyond. Each artist can comfortably produce 3D crosses as well as complex Greek Lettering. The business is currently run by Charlie’s son Buddy Wheeler who has carried on the legacy of hosting annual Tattoos Against Cancer to raise funds for the Meghan’s Mountain Children’s charity.
Dave took great care of me. I went in with three different tattoo images and wanted elements from all three. Dave was able to synthesize the three ideas into a beautiful tattoo which also included a cover up of a dumb tattoo I got when I was 18. This tattoo is a memorial tattoo for a few brothers lost overseas and Dave treated the tattoo with the respect and professionalism that it called for. Tattoo Charlies was already my go to place and always will be, you guys have certainly earned this veterans respect and business.
I just called to ask a couple questions before making the decision to come in to Tattoo Charlie's and whoever answered the phone made it seem like I was an inconvenience to them. I just asked about walk-ins and if they could accommodate me and a very small tattoo I want. I understand this is a popular and busy place but it didn't seem like they wanted to help me out. As a first-timer, it would have been nice to feel welcomed!

Got an amazing animal totem piece on my arm from Triumph. I was tattooed by Danny who did a fantastic job, and really made me feel comfortable throughout the whole experience. Triumph is a very clean and professional shop, and the artists do great work for a very fair price! I highly recommend this shop if you're looking for a real quality tattoo!
My fiance and I came to Louisville to escape hurricane Irma, he tattoos at Kreppy Tiki in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We had no idea how long we would have to be out of Florida, so he went there to guest spot and do a rather large tattoo on my sister. I cannot express how wonderful Smithers and Toni we're not only to us but in general. The shop is very clean and beautiful and in an amazing location. All of the artists were professional and did great work. I would recommend Triumph Tattoo to anyone in the greater Louisville area. I hope we can come back soon and revisit!
