CK Violins offers violin lessons to residents in Honolulu. The company has three trainers and has Japanese-speaking instructors. Its owners are professional musicians with the Honolulu Symphony and they have wide experience in renting, selling and repairing of a variety of different string musical instruments and accessories which they have done for 22 years. The company services violas, violins, and cellos for the local students and musicians under the Honolulu Youth Symphony and the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra. They also offer appraisal services and trade-ins.
Whenever I go to CK Violins to get something fixed or to purchase a violin, they are always welcoming and the service is impeccable! They make beautiful, well-priced violins, violas, and cellos, and I always recommend them to people looking for a new instrument or if they need something to be checked. I've gotten three violins from CK Violins, and they have all lasted for a time worth the (reasonable) price that I payed for them, and they were all of great-quality! I definitely recommend CK Violins for your (string) instrument needs!
I've had my viola from CK for over a year now and just got it tuned up. Nicholas is a very friendly, knowledgable guy and my experience every time I've walked through his doors has been very positive. To me, one of the most helpful aspects of his shop is the fact that he himself can play violin/viola, so I can listen to what the sound of the instrument is from the listener's perspective.
JMJ String Studio brings more than 25 years of violin and viola teaching experience to Hawaiians. Its teachers are experienced in handling children aged 6 years and above as well as adults. Jean-Michel Jacquon studied at the Lyon National Superior Music Conservatory and has performed at more than 2,400 concerts across the world. He is a member of the American String Teachers Association and the Suzuki Association of America.
We are so lucky to find Jean-Michael as my daughter's violin teacher. He is so patient with students and jumps to action to correct her errors. Thanks to his help, everyone around my daughter was stunned by her improvement in violin skills in such a short time. He also makes learning the instrument an interesting part of my daughter's life. Practicing the violin is not a torturing time, but an enjoyable moment for her! We highly recommend him for the students who are still searching for a great violin teacher!
Mr. Jacquon is an amazing, patient, and talented teacher! From the first lesson my son was able to play the violin. We began three years ago when my son was seven and Mr. Jacquon's hands-on style for teaching and reading music has been so good for him. Anyone who wants lessons would benefit from coming here, whether playing for fun or auditioning for symphonies. I'd recommend Mr. Jacquon to anyone interested in violin or viola.

The Masaki School of Music was started more than 55 years ago. The company offers lessons for violins, guitar, piano, cello, chamber music, ear training and music theory. Interested parties are required to fill out a form on the company’s website in order to get matched with the right teacher. The school holds classes for master’s students and numerous concerts. Students are also taught about the school’s founder Ellen Yasuko Masaki who taught music to thousands of students and his students went on to win many awards.
Many moons ago, Mrs. Ellen Masaki not only taught me how to play the piano like a pro, but also instilled into me the discipline to practice many hours and pushed me to play at a level I never thought possible!
