This gym offers classes for the novice to the advanced ..
One of the most motivating and intense gyms in all of NYC. Equipment is top notch and you won't find a full functional gym like it around. The trainers are dedicated and there to help you perform at your best. Get ready to sweat.

The space is bright and pleasant. It's not particularly crowded even during peak hours. They have three squat racks. It costs $100 per month. I've had no issues starting and stopping my membership as needed.
This place is fantastic! It's a large space with very clean equipment. The best part is that it is never crowded here, ever! Early in the morning, right after work, weekend mornings, it is never crowded. They offer 50 or so classes. So far I've only tried the spin classes but enjoyed them each time. If you are in the Williamsburg area, you don't need to go to the city to workout. Go to Chalk.
If you're looking for a gym in the area, start here. The place is clean, professionally managed, and has everything you need. Staff is great and the people that work out here aren't overtly bro. It gets a bit crowded after work but that's to be expected. I recommend the AM workout myself.
Everyday Athlete was founded in 1998 and has two facilities in Brooklyn-Carroll Gardens and Brooklyn Heights. The two facilities offer personal training, small group training and a children summer camp. Everyday Athlete has professional fitness trainers proficient in BetaMax Climbing Classes. It is guided by the philosophy of play theory, positive psychology and expert performance. The company has specialized fitness programs for children to suit different levels of physical development. Some of these include gymnastics, skateboarding, Ninja and Parkour and climbing classes that can be taken in summer and spring.
This place kind of blew me away. I took my 3yo for his first rock climbing experience. The person at the front desk was so kind and pleasant. The trainers are GREAT with kids. It takes a lot of patience to work with a 3 year old boy who gets easily distracted by everyone else moving around the space. But the coach was great and helped my son reach the top of the wall. If I lived closer, I would go here every weekend without a doubt.
Everyday Athlete is, frankly, incredible. From my wife's amazing pre- and post-natal fitness training, to their small group classes - we are both stronger and more flexible than we've ever been. Not only the training, but their philosophy about movement - I know I am avoiding injury and my posture is improved. They also have fantastic Kids programs (Parkour! Skateboarding! Bouldering!) and a truly unique Summer Camp. We LOVE Everyday Athlete and all of their brilliant trainers and coaches - after 10 years training with them - we keep coming back!

A "nothing special" gym but just as it doesn't have any outstanding features there's no problem with it either. It's good that it's not very crowded and they have all equipment you need for your workout. Prices are also moderate and the staff is nice. It's not a fancy place, in fact most machines are rather old but everything is perfectly functional. I haven't used personal trainers but as I see them working they do a good job.
Harbor Fitness is my neighborhood gym. All equipment is kept in working order and the staff are incredibly nice. They know me by a first name basis which I feel speaks volumes about a place. If you're looking for a great gym in Brooklyn, then look no further.
Excellent gym with all you should ever need. I had an issue with the new treadmills stopping after a certain amount of time. I spoke with the management who had the company come in and reset the machines so that I could run my long distances! It was above and beyond what I expected. Other gyms would just say they can't fix it, that's the way they are programmed.

Great workout. It incorporates treadmill intervals, rowing, and strength for an ultimate high intensity experience. Good for people of all athletic levels and abilities. The coaches are amazing and the facility is beautiful. Very clean and nice atmosphere.
It is effective! I shed lbs and inches in very little time. I feel more confident when I am in the gym that I know what I am doing. And, people who have not seen me in a while comment not just that I look like I have trimmed down, but that I, "look strong." Plus, the positive, fun, family type energy/vibe in the gym is great! Very encouraging w/o judgement.
I enjoyed the workout routine that I attended. It was my first time trying Orange Theory and while I was nervous about what to expect, in the end, the workout made me feel the burn (no joke). I can't wait to go back!
