Cooperative Nursery School of Champaign Urbana is a nonprofit, non-sectarian preschool that is owned and run by the parents of children enrolled there. The school is one of the oldest in Champaign having been started in 1946 by Dr. Katherine Whiteside Taylor who is nationally recognized as a specialist in child guidance and parental education.
Coop is an amazing and unique school! Both of my boys attended, & I stayed to become a teacher. Coop uses the Creative Curriculum to help kids explore, learn, and create. There is also a huge focus on social/emotional growth. In today's educational system, a good and supportive preschool is such a benefit to kids and their families!
This place was a wonderful start for our daughter. We loved it.

I had an interview on Friday with the director and I was so pleased with how things went. The facility staff was very friendly and welcoming. I look forward to working with all the great ladies and meeting the children and watching them grow and learn.
I have a 7 yr old who attends before and after school as well a 6 month old in the infant room...WE LOVE LA PETITE. The staff is super amazing and Heidi the director is beyond amazing. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a place for your kids to be cared for. It is always clean and tidy, teachers are calm and cheerful and super loving to all the kids!

They have classes for preschoolers right through to junior high school. The schools are highly diversified in terms of their programs with great exposure to music, art, and technology.
We moved to Illinois from Texas 3 years ago for graduate school. Our daughter attended Little Lamb Preschool and then moved into St. John Lutheran School for Kindergarten. She's starting 1st grade now and tells me each day how much she LOVES school. Her teachers are engaged with her academic progress, the school encourages parental involvement, and the church is missional in reaching out to the students. We DEFINITELY recommend both the school and preschool!
Sending my son here for preschool was one of my best decisions! He has learned so much, all the staff knows him, and he loves going so much he asks to go on the weekends! Have had nothing but good experiences!
