East River Tattoo has been offering professional body art services since 2000. The studio is known for producing perfect body art themes on maritime folk art, 19th century traditional styles wood cuts, nautical charts, scrimshaw and engravings. The artist, Duke Riley has been a tattoo artist for more than 23 years. He works with assistance from a team of six other tattoo artists. Duke’s work has been exhibited in numerous museums around the world such as the Brooklyn Museum.
I was tattooed by Rob Banks, and it was great. The place has a lovely feel and is full of great artists. I haven't been tattooed anywhere else in Brooklyn but wouldn't be at all surprised if this was the best place there

They also encourage those visiting them for tattoos and piercings to be accompanied by no more than 1 person and they do not allow expectant/breastfeeding women and those under the influence of drugs and alcohol to be tattooed. The artists can produce perfect tattoos of nature, mystique, traditional, modern, portraits and any custom tattoo that a client can ask for. This place is clean, beautiful, and friendly. The staff is incredibly professional and I trust their work. I've had two piercings/insertions done here, and I've dropped by for care advice. I'm always stressed out about finding a good place for piercings when I'm in a new place - I want to be sure I'm getting good quality jewelry that will heal and be good to go! Got my 1st tattoo done by Jimmy, a smaller piece on my wrist. He's super light-handed and the tattoo turned out beautifully. Had such a great experience, I came back to get a second larger piece done on my back. There's nothing more awkward than having to stand mostly shirtless in front of someone you've just met but, Chris was extremely respectful and polite about it and I felt quite comfortable. His work is also phenomenal and he's very efficient. Mark, the owner(?)/front desk guy is very helpful with recommendations and tips. For all future tattoos, this is the place to go and definitely ask for either Jimmy or Chris. Thanks guys
